Dreams

I've been having a lot of really weird dreams lately and I'm having a hard time remembering them. I'm way out of practice. I know I had a weird dream last night that involved thunderstorms. I woke up abruptly and it was actually thunder storming out. It was a weird storm, long-lasting storm, too. Continuous lightning, which meant continuous thunder. It rained quite a bit as well. I'm not sure if it's going to rain here, downtown at work right now.

My writing is out of control. I feel as if I write like a high school kid. Freshman, probably. I really need to get back in practice, but I'm continually feeling nervous.

I feel like I'm too scared to change.

Vacancy

The Alien has left the building...erm, I should say the Alien is in the process of leaving the building. He took apart the desk we gave him and transported it to his pod. Dust balls now wallow in its place. Today his sleeping pad should be delivered to his pod. This means he has no excuse about being at our place.

In other news, should I be concerned when I'm about to go into the restroom at work and somebody is just leaving with a book tucked under their arm?

Nautica Jacket

The Husband has a Nautica jacket that he bought on sale from Macy's for $70. Or something. We had a $30 gift card so maybe it cost $100 and he used the $30 gift card on it. Whatever. He had been coveting it for awhile.

The Nautica jacket is his baby, to be handled with care. One would think it is a porcelain doll. It cannot even be in the same closet as the other jackets. It gets a special place all of it own.

The Alien

The Alien still roamed around the house aimlessly. His steps were much like an elephant's. And it seemed like almost everything he touched, he broke. There was the bathroom door for instance. One day I went into the bathroom, locked it, only to find that when I wanted to leave the bathroom, the doorknob no longer worked. The hot water faucet for the kitchen sink also continuously broke, until The Husband went out and bought a new one. Not to mention, the back door. The Alien didn't know how to shut the back door without slamming it.

The Alien also felt rejuvenated by taking a 3 to 4 hour nap everyday at 2:00 PM. It was after this 4 hour nap that he sprung to action. Well, his action was mainly going outside to smoke and talking on his cell phone.

Random Dream Stuff

I had a dream last night that I was at the casino with my husband. We kept on winning and winning on a slot machine. Our credits became so high that the number couldn't be displayed on the screen. When we went to cash out, the machine malfunctioned and our ticket only had part of our winnings. Then a machine tech came over and helped us get the rest of the money. In my dream we won about $1700. Then I woke up and realized it wasn't real, and was quite disappointed. Another part of the dream was that I suddenly decided to go back to the library where I used to work. I was wearing my dorky blue Columbia jacket and my hair was in a messy ponytail. I just walked into the back office. One of my bosses was confused because I haven't worked there in almost six years. "Hey Karen!" he called out (because he forgot my name, and Karen seems close enough). And then I just walked back out. It was kind of odd.

The dream doesn't explain why I feel like the world is spinning out of control. I just felt like recording it. I think dreams are important. Somebody told me she only dreams in black and white. She tried to tell me that I dreamed in black and white, too. I said, "No! My dreams are always in color." Somebody else, who was also present said they dreamed in black and white, too. I was like, what?

I did some research on dreaming in black and white vs. color. The thought is that people who have a more artistic eye and pay more attention to the world dream in color. The other thought is that people who think they dream in black and white, actually dream in color. They just don't have the memory of it. The brain's memory activities aren't at their biggest capacity during the dream cycle, which is why you don't remember a lot of your dreams. If you work at remembering your dreams, it becomes easier.

I am happy to say that my husband also dreams in color.

Do you?
